Pakistan’s talented all-rounder Imad Wasim is likely to make his comeback in the national side during the upcoming Asia Cup, after recovering from his injury.

Imad Wasim is currently representing Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League. He played his last match for Pakistan during October last year before suffering a knee injury.

He captained Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League in February-March. However, he sustained a concussion when he fell dangerously while trying to take a catch.

Afterwards, his knee injury reoccurred and he had to sit out of the team.

Imad Wasim has been a consistent performer for Pakistan, bowling with the new ball and making handy contributions with the bat down the order.

The 29-year old is likely to replace Mohammad Nawaz in the squad, who is also a slow-left bowler and a left-handed batsman.

Asia Cup is scheduled to start from September 15, while the final of the tournament will be played on September 30.

Pakistan will take on the arch-rivals, India on September 19th. It will be their first encounter since the final of Champions Trophy 2017, where the Men in Green stood victorious by 180 runs.
