Imran Khan bags two in super over as KPK rolls into Pakistan Cup final


Karachi: Imran Khan Sr bagged Haider Ali and Rohail Nazir in super over to help Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) qualify for the final of the Pakistan Cup. 

Set to chase 16 runs in super over, Northern lost their two wickets for just two runs as KPK becomes the team to qualify for all three domestic first XI tournaments this season.

Musaddiq Ahmed of KPK showed his class and scored 13 runs off four balls with the help of a six and four to help KPK post 15-0 in the one-over eliminator.

Earlier, the right-handed batter contributed 62 runs off 50 balls when KPK was set up to chase 304 runs in 50 overs. His knock spread over eight fours and three sixes played a crucial part for KPK to hold a draw against Northern.

Opener Sahibzada Farhan smashed a century to lay down a solid foundation for KPK in a run-chase. He scored 132 runs off 144 balls laced with 13 boundaries and two sixes. Adil Amin made 25.

Ather Mehmood bagged two wickets for Northern.

While batting first, Northern got some brilliant contributions from their batters who helped their team to score 303-8 in the given overs. Haider smashed 65 while Rohail Nazir made 57. Hammad Azam remained unbeaten with 94 runs spread over seven boundaries and four sixes.

For KPK, Asif Afridi and Mohammad Waseem took two wickets each.

On Sunday (Tomorrow), KPK will meet Central Punjab (CP) in Pakistan Cup’s final.
