Imran, Wasim, Tendulkar part of Waqar’s all-time XI

The former Pakistani pacer, Waqar Younis has named his all-time idealised XI containing some of the top performance of all time from around the World.

Waqar in a video shared by Lord’s cricket ground YouTube page, picked the Aussie pair of Sir Don Bradman and Mathew Hayden to start the innings for his all-time star XI.

“I would go with Sir Don Bradman as the first opener for my side and alongside him, I think Mathew Hayden is the best choice.

“Bradman is someone who has several records as an opener and on the other hand Hayden with his aggressive calibre dominated the World of cricket,” Waqar said.

The right-arm fast bowler, went with West-Indian great Brian Lara to bat for him at number three.

“Yes no one can be as effective as Brian is on the third spot while batting and he is my ideal choice for middle order batting,” he said.

Indian little master, Sachin Tendulkar is the fourth batsman in Waqar’s all-time XI as he thinks that the right-hander have so many records in his pocket which are still fresh in one’s mind.

One of the all-time greatest West-Indian batsmen, Sir Vivian Richards is Waqar’s fifth choice as a batsman for his star XI.

“Viv can bat at any number and obviously his track record speaks itself,” Waqar stated while praising the batting ability of Viv Richards who is also the mentor of one of the Franchises of PSL, Quetta Gladiators.

At number six, Waqar went with West-Indian all-rounder Sir Garfield Sobers stating him as one of the best all-rounders he has seen ever.

Former Australian Wicket-keeper batsman, Adam Ghilchrist is the ideal choice for Waqar as the man behind stumps for his idealised XI.

“No one can take the place of Adam as he was one of the energetic men behind the stumps,” he said.

Pakistan’s World Cup winning captain and Waqar’s teammate, Imran Khan will lead the Waqar’s idealised team.

Wasim Akram would be the fast-bowler for Waqar’s idealised XI whereas Waqar picked Australian Shane Warne as the spin bowling option for his team.

Glenn Mcgrath is the last man Waqar picked for his team coining him the best medium pacer of all time.

“I think Mcgrath is the best medium pacer of all time,” Waqar stated.
