Pakistan and Indian junior teams faced off in the Sultan of Johor cup opener in Malaysia on Sunday. The two times winner of this elusive cup Indaa outclassed Pakistan in all departments as they defeated them 5-1.
India dominated the their arch rivals during the entire match and scored at regular intervals. Pakistan failed to grab the opportunities that came their way with both hands as they missed all their penalty corners. India opened the scoring in the fifth minute. They went on the offense from the word go and and never allowed Pakistan to bulid any sort of momentum. They scored a flurry of goals inside 12 minutes which resulted in three more goals. Pakistan pulled one back in the 45th minute through Mohammad Dilber but no goals came after that. India scored once again in the second half and that was the last major action of the match as they ran out victors with a hefty margin of 4 goals.

“This first match was difficult as we have new players added and they are still getting used to the team plus it’s their first international tournament as compared to team India who is very experienced.”
Pakistan next play Australia today in the first match of the day here in Malaysia.
In other matches Argentina defeated Australia 1-0 and Great Britain won against the home side 4-2.
