‘India under Virat reminds me of Pakistan under Imran’ says Manjrekar

Former Indian batsman Sanjay Manjrekar thinks that the Indian cricket team under skipper Virat Kohli in New Zealand reminds him of Pakistan under Imran Khan captaincy.

“India under Virat in NZ reminds me of Pakistan under Imran. Strong self-belief as a team,” Sanjay wrote on Twitter.

The renowned commentator pointed out that green shirts had self-belief under former captain Imran Khan and they found new ways of winning matches from losing positions. The same thing goes with the Indian team currently.

“Pakistan under Imran found different ways of winning matches, often from losing positions. That only happens when the self-belief is strong,” he added.

India recently whitewashed New Zealand at their own home ground by 5-0 in the T20I series.

As a captain, Imran Khan played 48 Test matches, of which 14 were won by Pakistan, 8 lost and the remaining 26 were drawn. He also played 139 ODIs, winning 77, losing 57 and ending one in a tie.
