The Indian cricket team won the blind world cup 2018 by beating arch-rivals Pakistan by 2 wickets in the final.

Pakistan posted a commanding score of 308/8 in the designated 40 overs, after India won the toss and opted to bowl first. Riding on fifty from Badar Munir and Riasat Khan’s 48, Pakistan crossed the 300-run mark in the championship clash. Pakistan skipper Nisar Ali also chipped in with a handy 47.

Chasing 309 to win in 40 overs, they rode on Sunil Ramesh’s 93 and Ajay Reddy’s 62 to get the target in 38.2 overs.

India lost quick wickets towards the end of their chase but a wide-ball that went on to cross the boundary eventually sealed the deal for them.

Pakistan stormed into the final after defeating Sri Lanka by 156 runs in the semi-final on Wednesday. India beat Bangladesh by seven wickets in the semi-final to set up a title clash with Pakistan.

This was the fourth edition of the 40-over Blind Cricket World Cup competition and the arch-rivals were facing each other third time in the final. In 2006, Pakistan had defeated India to lift the trophy in Islamabad.
