Ravi Dixit won a gold medal at the Asian Junior championship is going through a hard time as he does not have enough money to even travel. In order to finance his campaign for the South Asian games Ravi has decided to auction off his kidney on social media.
He posted on social media regarding the auction of his kidney and asked buyers to bid for it. He said that even after winning so many medals for India he was not supported by the government as it would have helped him take his squash to international level (quotes via Times of India).
“I have been playing squash for the last 10 years. Even after winning so many medals and representing India so many times, I do not get any support to take my squash to the national and international levels,”
“I am ready to sell my kidney. If anyone needs a kidney, they can contact me. The price of my kidney is Rs 8 lakh,”
Ravi’s parents are also quite worries to see their son take this drastic measure in order to finance his campaign and they have asked Ravi to reconsider this issue before going through with it. He added that the family is going through a crisis right now but together they will find a way to deal with it.
