Indian tennis players interested in visiting Pakistan

Karachi: Three Indian players have sent their entries for the Men’s Asian Ranking Tennis Championships which is part of the Asian Tennis Tour (ATT). According to PTF secretary Khalid Rehmani, the Indian players have applied through the Asian Tennis Federation but their entry to Pakistan depends on the government’s approval and visa clearance.

He said Indian player Naresh Khatri has shown his interest to participate in the ITF World seniors ranking tennis tournament which will begin on October 20 at Lahore. Naresh has visited Pakistan twice prior to this tournament.

There are various events scheduled for this tournament which includes plus 35, plus 45, plus 55 and plus 60 along with singles and doubles events. The former Pakistan tennis champion and Davis Cup captain Rashid Malik will be the Tournament Director.

It’s been further known that two Indian players have applied to take part in the tournament which is a very positive sign. The first event is scheduled to begin on the 24th of October at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Complex in Islamabad the second would be on October 27.

Khalid Rehmani said that PTF will support the Indian tennis players in every possible way as the tennis communities in both the countries are cordial towards each other and these events will send a very positive image of Pakistan at the international level.
