SHARJAH: Shane Watson’s 48 off 34 helped Quetta accumulate 141-8 against Peshawar in the 10th fixture of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season three here on Thursday.
Apart from Watson, it was Rilee Rossouw who smashed quick 37 off 25 at a crucial stage when Quetta was struggling on 83-4 after Pietersen got out scoring just five runs.
Quetta’s opener Watson and Asad Shafiq did not start off well after they were sent to bat first. Sammy who won the toss.
Umar Amin scored 11 while Skipper Sarfraz added 15 runs on the scoreboard.
Anwar Ali struck a six in the last over but unfortunately, at the same moment his leg hit the bails and he was declared hit-wicket out. He made only three runs.
Umaid Asif and Darren Sammy shared two wickets apiece while Khalid Usman and Sameen Gul took one wicket each.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and sent Quetta into batting.
The defending champions have won one match, while Quetta clinched 2 out of the three matches they have played each, so far in this season.
“The pitch looks good to chase while dew factor will be an advantage,” Sammy said after the toss.
“We will try to put 180 or 190 runs on the board which would be a defendable total,” Sarfraz said.
