Peshawar: An International Boxing Festival will be held in Peshawar on July 6 where 20 players from Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan will take part.
The event is organized by Asian Boxing Champion Usman Wazir’s UW Promotions and provincial government. It will be held at Peshawar Sports Complex.
“There is a lot of talent in boxing in Pakistan and especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Holding International Professional Boxing in different cities of Pakistan will prove to be a milestone,” Usman said.
Pakistan’s Kamran Khan will face his Afghan rival Hamid Khan in the main fight. Pakistan’s Yameen will face Afghan rival Haroon.
“The aim of the competitions is to provide opportunities to talented boxers at the grassroots level, both nationally and internationally. I am thankful to the provincial government for organizing the boxing event in Peshawar,” he added.
