Indian Kabaddi team on Thursday arrived in Lahore to participate in the International Kabaddi Series starting from January 10 in different cities of Pakistan.
The Indian players reached Lahore through Wagah Border to take part in a seven-day event which features India, Pakistan, and Iran. Iranian team had already reached Pakistan to feature in the tournament.
The provincial Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan welcomed the Indian team on their arrival. Talking on the occasion the Khan said that it is overwhelming for them to host a high-profile international kabaddi tournament.
“We are glad to host an international kabaddi event which will pave the way for us to revive our traditional game in the country,” he said.
Indian team manager Kuldeep Singh thanked the Pakistani authorities for welcoming them and said that they have brought the message of peace through sports.
“We feel like home here, hopefully, sports can bridge the gap between us,” he said.
