The second edition of Chief of Air Force International Open Sailing Championship will start from July 22 at an eye-catching venue in Karachi.
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Yacht Club will be hosting the mega event sailing champions from sixteen different countries including Pakistan will take part.
Air Commodore Sabih Wali-ur-Rehman while talking in a press conference in Karachi said that this event will encourage more people towards this unique and interesting sport which is popular all around the world.
“I think very few people know about selling but PAF has consistently organized such events to promote the sport in the country,” he said.
The tournament will be played in four different categories which include women, men, and optimistic sailors. A total of 72 players including national and international players have confirmed their participation in a four-day event concludes on July 27.
Beside international players, three international sailing coaches will also be included in the jury which will supervise the event under the command of Pakistan’s renowned sailing official Capt (Retd) AR Arshad, who is also Race Officer from Pakistan. Two more international race officers from Greece and Tunisia will take part in the event.
Sabih, who is also the president of PAF Yacht Club Club, added that international participants are keen to enjoy the atmosphere in Pakistan. “Presence of international technical staff and coaches gives local player ample exposure and they get a chance to learn a lot,” he added.
