Intikhab Alam re-hired as Pakistan cricket team manager

Intikhab Alam has been re-hired as Pakistan cricket team manager. He would be flying to Zimbabwe along with the national team on 24th of September.

“It is  an honor for me to be appointed as the national team’s  manager and it will be a great responsibility to implement discipline in its true spirit.  Zimbabwe team  won’t be an easy opponent to play with especially on its home ground.” said Alam.

According to details, Naveed Akram Cheema, who has been appointed as Chairman Federal Public Service Commission, expressed his inability  to continue further as  Manager of the National Team. Intikhab Alam, who has previously served as team manager and coach as well, was the next best option for the position.

According to sources this is a temporary position given to Intikhab for Zimbabwe tour and nomination for the England series  to be played in UAE will be announced later.

Recently while speaking to the media during the PSL logo Launching Ceremony, Intikhab Alam said that Zimbabwe team visited Pakistan to rehabilitate International cricket and now Pakistan is reciprocating by touring Zimbabwe, the playing conditions over there are slightly different from ours and its natural that the host team has an edge of playing on its home ground.

Earlier, in order to reduce expenses, the PCB had abolished the positions of Director Domestic and Director International by sacking  Intikhab Alam and Zakir Khan.
