Manger of the Pakistan cricket team and former player Intikhab Alam is confident that Off spinner Bilal Asif will clear his action when he goes to Chennai for official inspection. According to quotes from NDTV, Alam was talking to a local media channel in Pakistan Geo Super where he expressed his views on the issue.
“I am 99.9 percent confident that Bilal Asif’s bowling action will be cleared in the bowling assessment Test,”
“From what we have seen he doesn’t appear to bend his elbow and infact uses his wrist more with a straight arm to get purchase from the ball,”
He also stressed the fact that Pakistan needs a third proper spinner in the side and after the first test match concludes the team will look for other options in their meetings.
“We need a third proper spinner in the side and after the first test we will be talking about it,” he said
He was positive that if Bilal could clear his action he can considered in the test matches as well.
“If he clears his test why not. They are some left handers in the England side and Bilal impressed in the one-day series in Zimbabwe,”
“Looking at the conditions and weather here the option of playing three spinners and one seamer cannot be discounted,”
Bilal Asif will go to Chennai on Sunday to get his action tested in the Bio-mechanical lab situated there.
