Inzamam demands investigation over nepotism allegation

The Pakistan cricket team chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq demanded investigation over the claim being made on him by the former Test cricketer Abdul Qadir that he has contacted Basit Ali– chief selector of the National junior team, for his son’s inclusion.

Inzamam while reacting to the allegations made on him in a video message said that the one who is spreading such rumors would face its serious outcomes.

“I am really disappointed with this act, literally there is someone who is trying to defame me for no reason,” Inzamam claimed in a video he posted from his Twitter account.

The former test cricketer said that it is now intolerable for him and he is going to meet the PCB chairman Ehsan Mani to discuss this matter.

He added that if he has contacted someone to influence his son’s selection in the National team then he is ready to leave his designation otherwise the one who has claimed such things will face the same punishment.

He, in his video, said that “I am going to meet Mr. Ehsan Mani as this matter is really conscious for me. I am positive for not contacting anyone for such means,”

On the other hand, the National junior team’s chief selector Basit Ali also denied for getting any call from Inzamam regarding his son’s selection.

He also asked the PCB to investigate this matter in order to sort out the things to avoid further controversies.

“I would like to request the PCB to take legal action against those who are spreading such rumors,” Basit said.

The former right-hand test batsman, Mohammad Yousuf also raised the voice in favor of his friend Inzamam and demanded immediate investigation over this matter.

“This is not something that we can ignore, the one who is doing such things must face its outcomes,” Yousuf said.

Earlier, Inzamam also faced serious criticism over selecting his nephew Imam-ul-Haq in the National squad.
