Inzamam-ul-Haq recalls worst criticism of his career

Lahore: Pakistan’s former Test cricketer and chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq narrated a story of how he was being scolded by one of his senior cricketers during his playing days.

Speaking to people via his Youtube Channel, Inzamam recalled an incident when he faced the harshest criticism by a senior batsman for getting out earlier and it made him ‘cry for half an hour’.

“I still remember that incident when a senior batsman went harsh on me after I got out earlier. I think that were the harshest comments I had faced in my entire career. I cried a lot and was depressed that whole night,” he said.

He further disclosed the reaction of captain Imran Khan on that incident. “The next day, while boarding our plane, I was trying to find my seat. I found out that Imran Khan had the seat next to mine. I had to listen to so much yesterday and today is going to be no different,” he said.

“Imran Bhai looked my way and asked me about the shot I played. He told me that he thought that I was going to blow away the opposition. He told me my form is good. I couldn’t tell if he was joking with me or not. Imran Bhai, after saying this, put a pillow behind his neck and went to sleep. He stayed asleep the entire flight,” he added.
