The President of Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Syed Arif Hasan met Minister Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Fehmida Mirza to discuss Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming South Asian Games.
Arif stressed upon the need to stage the upcoming South Asian Games in Pakistan to give local athletes a taste of international sports in their home country. The POA asked Fehmida to conduct training camps for the upcoming mega event to field national athletes strongly.
In reply, the ministry of IPC assured to support POA in every step they take towards the betterment of sports in Pakistan.
On the other hand, both the parties discussed the preparations for upcoming National Games, scheduled in October in Peshawar.
Arif said that the preparations are in full swing and they want to conduct it in the best possible way. He added that these games will play an important role in players’ selection for the South Asian Games.
On the occasion, Fehmida asked all four provinces to come forward and play their role to lift the status of sports in Pakistan.
“It is necessary for all of us to fulfill our duties in order to flourish sports in our country,” Fehmida told to Arif in the meeting.
