Pakistan’s right-arm pacer Kainat Imtiaz thinks that Iqbal Imam’s inclusion in women’s cricket team management as batting consultant will help batters improve their skills.
“He is an experienced guy and knows how to give confidence to a player. His presence has given us ample exposure so far and I believe that the performance with the bat will be improved in our upcoming series against South Africa,” said Kainat while speaking to the media at National Stadium Karachi.
Kainat, 26, said that the team management is working with each player individually and trying to get rid of players’ weaknesses. She was quick to add that the national team will look in a good shape against the protease.
“Players along with team’s coaching staff are putting a lot of efforts which I think will help us look like a strong bunch against South Africa,” said Kainat while adding that Pakistan would have an edge mentally over the opponents due to winning their last match against them in ICC Women’s World Twenty20 held last year.
Kainat revealed that they are taking care of their fitness and increased their training time in the gym which is helping them. “We are adopting different ways to increase our potential,” he said.
Pakistan will be featured in three-match ODI series against South Africa starting from May 6. They will also play five T20I series against the hosts in their backyard. The tour will be part of ICC Women’s Championship.
