Irfan Jr signs for Sydney-based club, will move to Australia soon


Karachi: Dejected fast bowler Mohammad Irfan Jr has signed for Sydney based Western Suburbs District Cricket Club after he decided not to play any form of cricket in Pakistan.

The 25-year-old was omitted from the Southern Punjab 1st XI squad despite performing up to the mark in last season and was offered a place in the 2nd XI squad which he declined.

The club announced the signing as a long-term agreement after he has decided to move to Sydney, Australia permenantly.

“Wests Cricket are proud to announce that Irfan Jr has decided to join the Wests family on a long-term arrangement. Mo has made the decision to make the move to Australia and make Sydney his home,” the club said in an Instagram post.

It must be noted that the 6’6 right-arm pacer has featured in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and represented Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Quetta Gladiators. He has played 33 T20s and bagged 43 wickets at an average of 22.04.
