Two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champion, Islamabad United (IU), has decided to part ways with their head coach Dean Jones.
Jones took to Twitter to reveal that the owners of the franchise want to go with a new coach in the upcoming fifth edition of the league. “The owners of IU, Ali and Amna want, to go with a new coach this time around. Slightly disappointing for me as we won two championships,” he said.

Hailed from Australia, Jones had a great time with some amazing people in IU and thanked everyone he worked with throughout. “It was amazing working with some very talented people. We had used every bit of time to improve our performance as a team. From team staff to players, everyone was cooperative,” Jones highlighted.
The cricketer-turned coach-cum-commentator praised the planning of IU’s owners and team staff as many of their young players went onto represent Pakistan at the international level.
“As I said it was amazing working with such wonderful staff. We polished quality players who represented Pakistan on high in the last four years,” he concluded.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dean Jones remained a part of IU as head coach since the first edition of the PSL in 2016. They won the PSL’s opening edition in 2016 and third in 2018 in Karachi.
