Pakistan former Test captain Ramiz Raja thinks that every defeat brings another opportunity and now its a time for introspection.
“The system needs to be changed. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should develop a strong system which can provide players on a regular basis,” Ramiz suggested.
The cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz said that Pakistan cricket team wad on its peak and started playing competent cricket but unfortunately their campaign got ended.
“I am sure the players in dug-out would be really disappointed with such scenario as they were on track,” he said.
The ex-cricketer said that Pakistan need to work very hard if they want to reckon tournaments like the World Cup.
“Consistency is important when you are playing tournaments like the World Cup. You need to remove the ‘unpredictability’ tag from you and try to show performance consistently,” he said.
Rameez highlighted that the Australian team was in trouble two years ago but due to strong infratsructure they stood once again. “Australians were facing troubles a couple of years back even they lost matches to underdogs but now they will be favorites to win the World Cup,” said Ramiz.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan made their way out of the biggest multi-nation tournament due to poor run rate. The miserable defeat against West Indies and a wash-out against Sri Lanka hurt them the most.
