Javed Miandad puts weight on PCB’s decision to ban Umar Akmal

Karachi: Former Test cricketer Javed Miandad thinks that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took the right decision to ban Umar Akmal from all forms of cricket.

Speaking on his Youtube channel, Miandad said that Akmal destroyed himself by getting involved in unnecessary controversies.

“He was a very good cricketer but he got involved in unnecessary controversies. I had told him many times to change himself but he didn’t listen to anyone. Today, the result is in front of everyone, he got banned for three years,” he said.

Miandad advised upcoming cricketers to remain honest with cricket and Pakistan. He said that wrongdoings, in the end, lead only to a destructive conclusion. “I would like to request youngsters, please don’t put yourself into such things. It will ruin your careers for sure,” he reiterated.

It must be noted here that Akmal has been banned for three years under PCB Anti-Corruption Code. He was charged with two breaches of Article 2.4.4. The 29-years-old cricketer was suspended with immediate effect just a day before the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5.
