Kamran Akmal aims to retain PSL’s highest run-scorer tag

Karachi: Wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal is confident to continue his form in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five.

While talking to the reporters at UBL Sports Complex Karachi on the sidelines of a practice match, Akmal said that he is ready to once again show his dominance in the PSL. “I am prepared well and highly looking forward to yet another successful PSL season. It is not about how much runs I score but I will make sure to help my team whenever they need,” said Peshawar Zalmi’s opening batsman.

Akmal shared his views on Pakistan hosting the complete episode of the league this time around. He said that renowned players are currently in Pakistan and enjoying the atmosphere here which is a strong message across the world.

“I think it is a huge step to hold the entire league in Pakistan. Players like Hashim Amla and many other big names are currently in Pakistan and enjoying every moment here. Having renowned players in the dressing room will give immense confidence to the youngsters,” he said.

It must be noted here that the fifth edition of the PSL will start from February 21 with an opening ceremony followed by a first contest between defending champion Quetta Gladiators and two-time PSL champion Islamabad United at National Stadium Karachi (NSK).
