Karachi Kings will kick off their PSL 4 campaign against Shoaib Malik’s Multan Sultans today at Dubai International Stadium.
The clash promises to be a mouthwatering one with the experienced heads of Multan’s Malik and Shahid Afridi pitted against two of Pakistan’s limited-overs stalwarts in Imad Wasim and Babar for Karachi.
Karachi Kings have been one of the more consistent franchises in the tournament’s history. Their bowling attack has become more vigorous after the inclusion of swing bowling legend Wasim Akram as President of the franchise. Mohammad Amir and Usman Shinwari will make a strong pace combination while the skipper Imad Wasim along with the young guns will grip the spin department.
Talking about Kings’ batting, they have a lot of firepowers. They have got the top-ranked T20I batsman, Babar Azam followed by South African batsman Collin Ingram and Karachi Kings’ key component Ravi Bopara. Moreover, Colin Munro who is considered one of the most destructive players in the world right now, add much-needed flamboyance in the Karachi batting line.
On the other hand, Multan’s strong batting will test Karachi’s bowling while their bowling led by South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir, will also test Kings’ batsmen.
Multan Sultan have a solid batting line, the super-star Shahid Afridi who played for Kings in the last season would be the biggest threat for Karachi. Other than him, the destructive Windies batsman Andre Russell will be looking to jolt the Kings’ bowling line-up. Shoaib Malik, Shan Masood, James Vince and Nicholas Pooran make their batting line the one to be feared.
Both the teams would be hoping to start their respective campaigns on a winning note.
