Karachi Kings eager to continue their winning momentum in PSL 5

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five again is expecting thriller matches as another weekend doubleheader is on the cards. Karachi Kings will be facing Quetta Gladiators in the first match of the day in Karachi, National Stadium.

Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings started their campaign with a thrilling win over Peshawar Zalmi by 10 runs on Friday whereas Quetta defeated United in the opening fixture of the edition but lost to Zalmi yesterday after a blistering century inning by Kamran Akmal.

The teams have two points each. Kings will again highly depend on their top order and again will expect Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan for a cracking start in the powerplay. English opener Alex Hales is expected to play his first match in place of Mohammad Rizwan.

In the bowling department, Umaid Asif and Chris Jordan will again hold the key in the death overs. Imad presence will also be valuable in both batting and bowling for the Kings.

On the other hand, Gladiators will try to haunt Karachi after they got hammered by the Zalmi yesterday. High expectations will be from the overseas opening duo of Shane Watson and Jason Roy. Jason was the only notable batter for Gladiators yesterday, who made 57-ball 73.

Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed will again look to play the anchor role just like he did in the last two matches. Young Azam Khan will again key batsman for Gladiators in the middle-order as he played winning 33-ball 59.

The match between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will begin at 2 pm.
