As Karachi Kings’ talent hunt drive Khiladi Ki Khoj reached Haripur in KPK, selectors identified extremely talented young cricketers during the trials.
The trials took place at Rashid Latif Academy on Sunday, where budding cricketers participated in big numbers to prove their metal.
Rashid Latif along with Pakistan’s former off-spinner Arshad Khan and wicketkeeper Atiq-Uz-Zaman took trials and were impressed with the kind of talent they saw there.
There were talented children as young as seven years old who came for the trials and impressed selectors with their potential at such a young age.
“It is a positive sign for Pakistan that children are taking interest in cricket,” team director Karachi Kings Rashid Latif said. “Coaching, academies should be for children who can be groomed and represent the country in the future.”
Earlier, Karachi Kings held trials in Swat and Swabi on Friday and Saturday respectively, where they shortlisted young skillful players.
The trials will now take place in D. I. Khan on October 16th.
