Karachi Kings loses to Multan Sultans by 52 runs

Multan: Bowlers helped Multan Sultans beat Karachi Kings by 52 runs in 10th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5 on Friday.

Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowlers for the home side as the right-arm leg-spinner celebrated in style thrice. He finished with the figures of 3-28.

Earlier, skipper Shan Masood (61) and Moeen Ali (65) led Sultans to 186-6 in 20 overs. The left-handed duo looked comfortable to score runs all around the park. They both scored 71 runs together for the second wicket.

Zeeshan Ashraf (23) also set the tone for Sultans as he put up a decent show in the start with three boundaries and a six. Iftikhar Ahmed picked up Zeeshan to provide the first breakthrough to the visitors.

Mohammad Amir and Chris Jordan bagged two wickets each for Kings while Umaid Asif and Iftikhar shared a wicket apiece.

While chasing 187, the men in blue lost explosive Sharjeel Khan, who was looking in good knick while hitting two boundaries and a six, for the sum of just 19. The left-handed batsman scored 16 runs off nine deliveries.

Alex Hales played sensibly to give a sigh of relief in Kings’ camp but experienced Shahid Afridi did the work for Sultans. He removed in-form Hales for 29. Umaid Asif also scored 20 runs.

Apart from Imran Tahir, Afridi and Sohail Tanvir bagged two wickets each. Moeen Ali, Mohammad Irfan, and Mohammad Ilyas took a wicket each.
