Karachi Kings retained Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir and Colin Munro in the Platinum category as all six franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Tuesday finalized their retentions for the next edition of the league.
South African batsman Colin Ingram moves to the Diamond retention as ambassador alongside Imad Wasim and Usman Khan Shinwari.
Mohammad Rizwan and Ravi Bopara find their place in the Gold category for Karachi Kings.
Reigning champion, Islamabad United retained New Zealand’s Luke Ronchi, Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf in the platinum category for the next season.
Runners-up in the last edition, Peshawar Zalmi after losing Mohammad Hafeez went with the pace duo of Wahab Riaz and Hassan Ali in their Platinum roster.
Now Zalmi will pick a foreign player from the platinum category at the draft meanwhile wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal moves to Diamond as ambassador.
The Windies all-rounder Sunil Narine joined Quetta’s skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to complete the retention of the two-time runners-up franchise of the PSL in the Platinum category.
Star performer of PSL’s last edition, Shane Watson moves to Diamond and will be the mentor of the gladiators.
The Sixth Team’s retentions include star Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik in Platinum and left-arm pacer Mohammad Irfan in Diamond as Player Ambassador.
Lahore Qalandars, who will pick first at this season’s players Draft, retained opening batsman Fakhar Zaman as their only Platinum player while leg-spinner Yasir Shah was retained in Diamond.
It is pertinent to mention here that, the Player Draft will be held on November 20 in Islamabad whereas the fourth edition of the PSL is scheduled from February 14 to March 17 in the UAE.
