Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal expressed his hopes of success against Peshawar Zalmi when the two teams clash at Sharjah for the third playoff of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Friday.

Iqbal said that the names of foreign players travelling to Lahore for the final will only be revealed after the Kings qualify for it.

“We are currently focused on the match and I’ve asked the players to express themselves fully against Zalmi and play like champions,” he said while addressing fans during show ‘Har Lamha Purjosh.

Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim and Usama Mir took three wickets each as Karachi Kings knocked Islamabad United, the defending champions, out of the PSL with a 44-run win in Sharjah on Wednesday.

The victory was nothing but miraculous as the Kings’ bowlers defended a meagre total of 127.

Although the batsmen could not put up a very attractive performance, the opening partnership between Babar Azam and Chris Gayle was a positive part of Karachi’s performance.

“Gayle is our lucky charm,” said Iqbal about the big West Indian.

“While he is on the crease the opponents are naturally on the back foot,” he added.
“Bigger performances will come from him.”

Iqbal also revealed that the Karachi Kings’ players believe that no other team has recieved as much support from their respective cities.

“They are very proud of their supporters,” said Iqbal.
