Karachi is to host all the eight matches of the Pakistan Super League’s season 4, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Sunday.
All three matches of the Pakistan Super League 2019 which were to be staged in Lahore will now be held in Karachi.
PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani said, “Due to the recent and prevailing uncertainty, we felt it critical to make a decisive decision at this juncture.” He regretted that that the “headquarters of Pakistan cricket will be unable to host the PSL matches in 2019 due to no fault of the PCB”.
Pakistan was to host eight PSL 4 matches, five in Karachi and three in Lahore. Amid the political crisis between Pakistan and India, staging of matches in the country fell in jeopardy. But, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani along with PSL franchise owners held a press conference where they announced that the matches will be held as per schedule.
The Pakistan leg of the PSL is scheduled to start from March 9 and the final of the tournament will be played on March 17.
