‘I believe Karachiites will support us throughout’ says Imad Wasim

Karachi: Imad Wasim, the captain of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) most followed franchise, Karachi Kings has full belief on Karachiites that they will support the Kings at every venue in this year’s PSL.

While talking at the pre-match presser at National Stadium in Karachi, all-rounder knows that they have just five matches at their home ground but it would be great for them as they picked the squad keeping in mind that they have to play everywhere.

“The fans of Karachi will come to support us in every ground whether we play in Lahore, Multan or Rawalpindi, fans will enjoy at each venue,” Imad said.

“It is great for us in terms of playing at different venues. We kept in mind that if there is a spin wicket, we have three spinners and if there is a bouncy wicket in Multan, we will go for four fast bowlers,” he added.

Imad, however, didn’t reveal the playing XI for tomorrow’s fixture against Peshawar Zalmi but commenting about explosive English batsman, Alex Hales he said that he can bat at the one down spot.

“You can shuffle around a player till the number three spot, Alex has played a lot of cricket with me in English county and has batted at the number three spot. We knew when we were selecting him that we can fluctuate him around,” he maintained.

The 31-year-old is expecting a cracker of a pitch and will get to know more after the opening match between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

“Wicket has always been great in Karachi, the matches are high scoring, the crowd is great. We will get to know more about the conditions after today’s match,” he added.

He is confident that Kings will start the PSL five campaign on a winning note and the teams will be fully aware of the brand of cricket we will play.

“I urge Karachiites to support and pray for us, we will try to justify our performances and our aim is to play a different brand of cricket this year and hopefully success will follow us too,” he concluded.

It is worth mentioning that Karachi Kings will play their first match tomorrow against Peshawar Zalmi at National Stadium, Karachi at 3:00 p.m.
