Key players to rest in Pakistan-Afghanistan ODI series


Karachi: The selection committee has decided to rest key players in the upcoming Pakistan and Afghanistan ODI series, scheduled in the first week of September in Sri Lanka, ARY News reported citing sources.

According to details, skipper Babar Azam, wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, leg-spinner Usman Qadir, pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Hasan may rest.

All-rounder Shadab Khan will lead the Green Shirts in three-match ODI series. Pacer Haris Rauf and batter Sohaib Maqsood are likely to be dropped from the side. The selection committee is expected to announce the final squad in the upcoming two days.

The training camp for the ODI squad players will be held from August 21-28 in Lahore. The players, who are currently in West Indies with the Test side, will join the team upon return.
