Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, Shaharyar Khan told that he has not received any official statement from the Patron in Chief, Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif about his resignation that he presented on April 27, Dawn News reported.
There were speculations that the Patron in Chief has rejected PCB boss’ resignation, however, Khan denied those reports and stated that he has not received any response from PM so far.
“I am doing my job and waiting an official word from the Patron about my resignation. I am going to Islamabad on Wednesday where I have to appear before the Senate Standing Committee on Sports on Thursday,” Shaharyar said.
The 83-year old resigned from the chairmanship of PCB because of his health and personal issues, just four months before the official end of his three year tenure.
Khan was appointed as the PCB boss in 2014 after legal rift between Zaka Ashraf and Najam Sethi.
