KHULNA: Bangladesh ended their first day’s proceedings of the Khulna test match at 236/4 thanks to half centuries by opener Imrul Kayes and Mominul Haq, ARYSports.tv reports.
The home side won the toss and opted to bat first.
Mominul Haq scored 80 runs from 162 balls with the help of eight boundaries while Imrul Kayes scored 51 runs from 130 balls which included six boundaries.
Mahmudullah fell just one run short of his half century as he was back in the pavilion after contributing 49 runs from 120 balls. Tamim Iqbal made 25 runs for his side from 74 balls.
Pakistani bowlers Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Hafeez, Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah all took one wicket in the day.
Shakib al-Hasan is at the crease with 19 runs to his name whereas captain Mushfiqur Rahim is expected to join him tomorrow.
