Kings look to continue winning streak against table-toppers Sultans

Karachi Kings have made a strong comeback in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five by winning two straight matches which have placed them on the third spot on the table.

A third win against table-toppers Multan Sultans today at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will take them to the top of the standings of PSL 5. Sultans have won four out of five matches so far in the competition.

Kings convincingly defeated former champions Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi. Kings have in-form Babar Azam and Alex Hales who played a huge role in defeating Zalmi by six wickets as they put a 101 second-wicket stand. However, pacer Mohammad Amir rattled their batting by claiming 4-25, reminding that he is still one of the impactful bowlers in T20 cricket around the globe.

Kings are expecting the same from the 27-year-old left-arm pacer along with other bowlers to support him at crucial times. The inclusion of Umer Khan has allowed captain Imad Wasim to hold the innings in the middle over which were not visible in the initial matches.

Sultans, on the other hand, have shown great batting display with Rilee Rossouw smashing fastest PSL ton against Quetta Gladiators on just 43 balls. They have also the most lethal spin bowling attack having the likes of Shahid Afridi, Imran Tahir, and Moeen Ali.

Led by Shan Masood, the Sultans have now emerged as one of the teams to beat in this competition and it will be intriguing to see the battle between the two in-form sides at 8 pm.
