SHARJAH: Pakistanis always look forward to Karachi versus Lahore contests and if it is in the cricket, it is a treat for them. Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars will meet tonight in Sharjah for their first encounter of the second season of PSL.

Record suggests Karachi Kings have a clear upper hand over Lahore Qalandars as the Kings have defeated both times they have come face to face in PSL, which eventually gave Karachi Kings way to playoffs in the inaugural edition of the league.

However, both the teams have revamped sides and Qalandars are looking dangerous under ultra-aggressive captaincy of Brendon McCullum. They defeated Islamabad United and nearly pulled off an impossible win against Peshawar Zalmi defending just 60 runs. On the other hand, Karachi Kings have failed to find a win under Kumar Sangkkara’s captaincy so far.

Karachi Kings’ perfect record against Qalandars must have been in their mind which must have boosted their morale. Whereas, McCullum will be looking get rid of this baggage before taking the field tonight.

Both Karachi and Lahore are star studded. If Brendon McCullum has the capability to punish any bowling attack, Chris Gayle can rip apart any bowling line. Where Sunil Narine can test any batting line, Mohammad Amir have the guts to run through any set of batsmen.

Karachi Kings will be looking to make some changes in their playing XI as their young leggie, Abrar Ahmed has caught a stress fracture in his back and has been replaced by young left-arm pacer Usman Khan Shenwari in Emerging Category.

While Lahore Qalandars must be happy with their current playing XI as they are complementing each other pretty well.

Fans are excited for the contest and cricket pundits are expecting a nerve wrenching contest on a batting friendly wicket of Sharjah.
