KARACHI: Karachi Kings had a disappointing start to their PSL 2017 campaign with a defeat against Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets.

Karachi Kings’ solid batting line up collapsed drastically as they were 12/4 at a stage and they could only manage 118 runs in their quota of 20 overs at a cost of seven wickets. Shoaib Malik, Ravi Bopara and Keiron Pollard were the only players to get into double figures.

On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators registered an unexpected win against Lahore Qalandars where they successfully defended 137 runs.

Despite of starting the tournament on a positive note, last year’s runner ups must not be satisfied with their show and will look to improve their performance.

Although Karachi Kings lost the game, but they must be pleased with their bowling performance. Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan, Imad Wasim and the rookie leg-spinner, Abrar Ahmed bowled extremely well in the contest.

It is Kings’ batsmen that need to step up and post a defendable total on the board.

The match between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will be played at 9 PM in Dubai.
