Karachi Kings pick McClenaghan, Walton in PSL 5 replacement draft


Karachi: The most followed franchise of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings’ have drafted New Zealand’s Mitchell McClenaghan in Gold category and West Indies Chadwick Walton in Silver category in the replacement draft of PSL season five.

The replacement draft for the PSL 5 held in Gaddafi Stadium at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headquarters. Both of them have replaced Liam Plunkett and Dan Lawrence respectively who were picked in the initial draft. Plunkett is out due to injury whereas Lawrence will miss due to National duty.

Islamabad United has drafted English batsman David Malan in the silver category in place of proteas Rassie van der Dussen. Lahore Qalandars have picked South African Dane Vilas in place of West Indies Lendl Simmons in the Gold category.

Multan Sultans will not get the service of West Indies Fabien Allen and he is replaced by Wayne Madsen in the silver category.

Quetta Gladiators have picked leg spinner Zahid Mahmood who recently bowled well in the National T20 cup. He has replaced West Indies, Keemo Paul, in the silver category.

Carlos Brathwaite and Lewis Gregory will be part of the Peshawar Zalmi as they have replaced Kieron Pollard and Dwaine Pretorius for the upcoming edition.

The PSL 2020 will be played in Pakistan completely at the grounds of Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan from February 20 to March 22. The first match of the event will be played between defending champion Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United in Karachi while the final will be played in Lahore.
