“From my side, you will see an aggressive style of cricket, I will try to improve the dynamics of the side more this time around,” he said.

Working with Dean Jones

The 31-year-old is inspired by the coaching of the new head coach of Kings’ Dean Jones who is one of the successful coaches in the history of the PSL.

“His dynamics of coaching are different from others, his strategy is quite aggressive. Unfortunately, I didn’t work with him previously but since I have met him, he is a very positive person and tactically wise, he is above from all the other coaches,” he added.

Inclusion of Sharjeel Khan

He shared his excitement when they picked explosive left-handed batsman Sharjeel Khan in the draft and termed him as the “Ace player” in the Kings’ squad as he is making a comeback after three years.

“When we were about to pick him (Sharjeel), it was such a proud moment for me as a captain. This is one player who will win us the matches. He is making his comeback, he is hungry to score runs and to prove the cricketing world that I’m the same Sharjeel as most of the people have written him off but I have a firm belief as he might be a one-man army for us,” he maintained.

Rivalry with Lahore Qalandars

Left-arm spinner clarified that there is no such competition with the city-rivals Lahore Qalandars as the Karachi Kings’ are here to win every single match of the tournament.

“When you step out in the ground, your only motive is to win. Whether it is Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, we will try to give our hundred percent and win every match of the PSL,” he added.

Relationship with Mr. Salman Iqbal

“Everyone knows my relation with Mr. Salman Iqbal as he is like an elder brother to me. He always looks after us and there is no other franchise owner like him as I play leagues all over the world,” he said.

“Mr. Salman Iqbal is so much involved in the game and most importantly he doesn’t interfere in the captain and coach’s domain. Obviously you are answerable for the loss but you can see we have not played any final but he has never said anything to me,” Talking about his relationship with owner Karachi Kings Mr. Salman Iqbal and the environment he has provided to the Kings’ family.
