Indian Premier League’s (IPL) franchise Kolkatta Knight Riders have denied the report that their owner, Shahrukh Khan has asked for a contest against Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) Peshawar Zalmi.
Many Pakistani media houses reported Javed Afridi saying that KKR’s owner Shahrukh Khan congratulated him on winning PSL 2017 and also expressed his wish for a series between his franchise and Peshawar Zalmi.
However, Kolkatta Knight Riders have denied the report via their Twitter account, “KKR won’t be playing any unauthorized games/leagues as some false reports are claiming. No such communication happened from our end.”

On the other hand, CEO KKR, Venky Mysore talked to India Today and clarified the matter further, “I just had a word with Shah Rukh and he told me that he has been so busy shooting these days that he didn’t even know that any such league was happening in Pakistan or Dubai, let alone calling any franchise owner and congratulating him on winning the tournament.”
