Knee injury rules out Yasir Shah of the boot camp

Pakistan’s spin sensation, Yasir Shah has been ruled out of the ongoing boot camp in Abbottabad as his knee injury has gotten worsen.

Shah is will undergo a four-week long rehabilitation, however, he is expected to get fit before the all important upcoming England tour and he is likely to represent Pakistan in tour starting from July 14th.

Yasir suffered meniscus tear in his knee during the ODI series against England in the UAE in November last year. Afterwards, he was tested positive for a prohibited substance and he was suspended for 3 months. During the span, he missed Pakistan’s tour to New Zealand, Pakistan Super League, Asia Cup and the World T20.

Yasir didn’t undergo rehabilitation during his time away from cricket, as the ban expired, Yasir participated in the spinners’ camp at the NCA and his injury aggravated again during Pakistan Cup.

An MRI scan revealed that Yasir has a bone bruise along with ligaments stress and the injury is located at the same spot of meniscus tear in left knee. It is confirmed that the leggie doesn’t need a surgery.

The squad for the England tour is expected to be announced in the first week of June. The selected squad is likely to have a training camp in Hampshire to get familiar with the playing conditions. As per reports, Pakistan will leave for England on 14th or 15th of June.
