Mohammad Hafeez, one of the most experienced players in the team of Pakistan, provides the much needed balance to the team with his capability of batting at the top of the order and bowling crucial overs.
The 36-year old has been an integral part of Pakistan since past three or four years. His ability to bowl with the new ball during the powerplay adds depth to Pakistan’s bowling attack.
Although, Hafeez has been struggling for the past year or so with the bat, he has been vulnerable on deliveries outside off-stump, but he is kind of a player that if he clicks, he will take the team near victory.
Mohammad Hafeez made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in April 2003, since then he has scored 5,728 runs in 185 ODIs with an average of 32.73. Moreover, he has struck 132 times for Pakistan with an economy rate of as low as 4.32.
With his immense experience, he along with Shoaib Malik, can help the newly appointed ODI skipper Sarfraz Ahmed in decision making during crunch times of the game.
If Mohammad Hafeez gets going for Pakistan, it will be hard for opponent teams to stop the Men in Green in the Champions Trophy
Pakistan will kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against the arch-rivals India on June 4.
