‘Kohli released pressure from the team’ Ishant

Right-arm pacer Ishant Sharma praised skipper Virat Kohli for staying firm for India in pressure situation which helped them rise from 8/2 to 172/3 at stumps on day two of the second test.

Ishant also had a word for Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane who supported Kohli well to put India to a decent position in the test.

It is pertinent to mention here that Kohli and Rahane are not out on 82 and 51 runs respectively while Pujara got to 24 runs before walking back to the pavilion.

Sharma said that when Kohli was batting they were confident that he will make the most of the final session and all happened exactly what they wanted.

“We always feel confident when he is on the crease,” Sharma said of Kohli.

Sharma feels that they have finished the day on a strong note and there is enough chance for them to make their position better as Kohli and Rahane will resume the play for them on day three.

“I think we finished the day on good position and Kohli and Rahane are on the crease. Hopefully, the things will turn around for us tomorrow,” he said.

It is worth mentioning here that Sharma produced best figures of 4-41 against Australia.
