Karachi: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Sajid Khan proved his mettle with the bowl, becoming the highest wicket-taker so far in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy with 32 scalps.
The right-arm off-break bowler will be leading the highest wicket-taking bowlers’ chart as the premium First-Class Tournament rolls into Fifth Round tomorrow here at three different venues.
Southern Punjab (SP) is leading the Points Table with 64 points with two wins in four matches they have so far played in the tournament. Whereas, Northern and KPK follow Table Toppers with 61 and 56 points respectively. Both teams have won two matches each, lost 1 and one held drew.
With a win each, Balochistan and Sindh are placed fourth fifth respectively on the basis of points. Balochistan has 56 while Sindh has so far gained 49. Central Punjab (CP) hasn’t won a match yet and settled at the last position with 21 points.
Hammad Azam has grabbed the second position at highest run-scorers’ list behind Hussain Talat (441). Hammad has so far scored 410 in four matches. Asad Shafiq, with his 141-runs knock against SP, entered the top five run-scorer’ list as his run tally reached 333 runs. Saud Shakeel (387) and Umar Amin (340) are third and fourth highest run-scorers so far.
Besides Sajid, Nauman Ali is once again proving his mettle with the red-ball as the left-arm spinner has bagged 29 wickets. Zahid Mehmood of SP has 25 wickets under his belt while Amed Safi Abdullah and Yasir Shah are also among the top five highest wicket-takers with 18 and 16 scalps respectively.
