Lara bashes ICC over fining Wahab, offers to pay his fine

KARACHI: West Indies cricket legend Brian Lara has criticized International Cricket Council (ICC) for fining Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz, reports.

ICC had fined Wahab Riaz half of his match fee for using “aggressive and abusive language” in the quarter final against Australia.

Brian Lara said that he cannot understand why the fast bowler is being fined.

“Is it Riaz’s fault to entertain the cricket fans”, he asked.

He has also expressed his wishes to meet the left arm pacer and also offered to pay his fine to the governing body of the sport.

The West Indies legend had said that Riaz’s aggressive spell to Australia’s Shane Watson was a joy to watch.
