Lata Mangeshkar doesn't want Dhoni to retire

Indian singing legend Lata Mangeshkar has requested the wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni to not consider retirement from international cricket as his team needs him.

Lata took to Twitter to support the former Indian captain. She wrote, “Namaskar M S Dhoni ji. Aaj kal main sun rahi hun ke Aap retire hona chahte hain.Kripaya aap aisa mat sochiye. Desh ko aap ke khel ki zaroorat hai aur ye meri bhi request hai ki Retirement ka vichar bhi aap mann mein mat laayiye. @msdhoni (Hello, MS Dhoni. I have been hearing that you want to retire. Please don’t think of it. Our country needs your game and it is my personal request too that don’t think of retirement.)”

On Wednesday, India were crashed out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 after losing to New Zealand in the semi-final by 18 runs.

Dhoni had single-handedly won so many games for India, but the wheels of fortune turned around yesterday when Martin Guptill’s stunning run out dismissed the wicket-keeper batsman.

The 38-year-old was heavily criticised for his “baffling inning” against England where he kept knocking singles when the required run-rate was over 15 in the last 5 overs.
