Legendary footballers, Ricardo Kaka and Luis Figo reached Karachi in Thursday afternoon for a brief visit under ‘World Soccer Stars’.
The former Brazilian and Portuguese footballers will hold a press conference in Karachi to brief about the star-studded matches which are scheduled to take place on 26 and 29 April later this year in Karachi and Lahore respectively.
The star footballers were presented with Ajrak and Sindhi Topi as souvenirs at the Jinnah International Airport.
Kaka had earlier expressed his excitement to visit Pakistan for the first time in a video message.
“I am really looking forward to being there in Pakistan which will be my first visit to the Asian football-loving nation,” he had said.
Ahmer Kunwar, a UK-born Pakistani, is the man behind the idea “World Soccer Stars” with an aim to revive the sport in Pakistan.
“This initiative has been taken to give football a new and unique identity in Pakistan,” he had said earlier.
