LHC to hear petition seeking removal of chairman PCB

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday accepted a petition for initial hearing, seeking the removal of Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shehryar Khan, ARY Sports reported.

The petition was based on poor performance of the national team in the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2015.

The petitioner took the stance that the reason behind poor performance by the players is their selection against the merit, while the appointment of the current chairman PCB was also made on political grounds.

“Chief of the governing board, Najam Sethi and the chairman PCB included players in the world cup squad, who made their way into team through backdoor”, said the petitioner.

He requested the court to prevent Sethi from interfering into PCB affairs and to remove Shehryar Khan from the post of PCB chairman.
