Musadiq, Fakhar take KP near to semi-final place in National T20 Cup


Rawalpindi: Musadiq Ahmed smashed 33 off just 9 balls to lay down a solid foundation for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to beat Southern Punjab (SP) by 73 runs. 

Sent into bat first, KP scored 205-4 in 20 overs with Fakhar Zaman scoring highest 68 runs off 34 balls. He struck 11 boundaries and two sixes to leave a lead for other batsmen.

Shoaib Malik and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 62 runs together for the fourth wicket. Malik scored 33 runs while Iftikhar made 36 runs.

In the end, Musadiq smashed three sixes and as many boundaries to further strengthen the score of KP.

For SP, Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Ilyas bagged two wickets each.

In reply, SP were bowled out for 132. Mohammad Imran fought hard by scoring 48 runs off 28 balls but couldn’t get the support from other batsmen. Zain Abbas scored 34 runs off 21 balls.

Junaid Khan bagged two wickets while Shaheen Afridi, Arshad Iqbal, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, and Musadiq shared a wicket apiece.
