Here we go!
Shoaib Malik, Multan Sultans’ skipper, feels it is the first game of this season’s PSL and his team’s debut outing, so it will be better to bowl first and bat accordingly afterward.
“It’s our first game and if you look at the pitch it has a bit of grass. These are the reasons we’re bowling first. It’s our first year and takes a bit of time to understand franchise cricket but we’re all professionals. Our four overseas players are Sanga, Pollard, Tahir…and a very fast bowler from South Africa. I can’t pronounce his name,” he stated after winning the toss.
On the other hand, defending champions’ captain, Darren Sammy believes the wicket has a bit of more grass as compared to last year.
“The new wicket has a little bit more grass than last year. Whoever was going to win the toss would’ve bowled first. But we are prepared to bat. First six overs we’ll assess the conditions and then we’ll know what’s a good score. It’s a true wicket and I’m hoping our two openers will assess and tell us whether it’s a 175 or 180 wicket,” said Sammy at the toss.
Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The newest entrant of Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans look to make their mark in their first outing. Whereas, Peshawar Zalmi is hoping to keep up their winning momentum from the last season.
